Here is a
spectacular cranberry colored tourmaline crystal from the Jonas mine in
a region of Brazil. After a long period of unsuccessful mining operations,
a large pocket filled with huge tourmaline crystals was discovered. This
one weighs 182 grams and measures 2 3/8 by 1 1/2 inches. Perched atop the
crystal is an 18.7 carat faceted green tourmaline. Image size=52.6k JPEG.
