This fine piece of drusy chrysocolla has been carefully hewn from the
host rock, and then set in a minimal but secure 14 karat gold bezel
setting. We chose such a setting to highlight the unusual sparkling
attributes of this uncommon gemstone. Robert M. Shipley, (Gemological
Institue of America's founder), defines drusy as being "covered with
minute crystals closely crowded, giving a rough surface with many
reflecting faces". IT SPARKLES. This translucent layer covers
a cool blue host of hydrous scilicate of copper. Ahhh the magic
of chemistry in nature. This one of a kind piece is about one inch
tall. Call or E-mail for details. Image size=36.4k JPEG
